The old media vs. new media conversation isn’t slowing down.

And now Tyrese Haliburton has jumped into it.

“Who’s got a bigger name? Me or him?” Haliburton posted, referencing the situation involving Kenny Beecham and a recent scheduling change on SiriusXM NBA Radio.

Beecham is set to host a weekly show on the platform through the NBA Draft, a move that cuts into the usual time slot of longtime hosts Frank Isola and Brian Scalabrine.

That didn’t sit well with Isola.

During an on-air exchange, Isola questioned Beecham’s reach, asking who was more popular — Scalabrine or Beecham. Scalabrine laughed and quickly answered: Beecham.

Scalabrine also seemed to lightly caution Isola about going down that road. Isola didn’t exactly back off.

He turned the question toward himself and made it clear he didn’t believe Beecham belonged in the same conversation.

He also dismissed social media as a measuring stick, suggesting platforms like Twitter don’t carry much weight since followers can be bought.

That didn’t slow the reaction online. If anything, it amplified it.

Much of the response on social media has sided with Beecham, pointing to his digital reach and connection with younger fans.

Now Haliburton has added his voice, too.

At this point, it’s not really about a time slot. It’s about who actually has the audience.
