Utah Jazz Reportedly ‘Aren’t Done’ on NBA Trade Market
© Rob Gray–USA TODAY Sports

Saturday evening, the Dallas Mavericks did the unthinkable, trading away franchise cornerstone Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in a package involving Anthony Davis. In order to get the deal across the finish line, the Utah Jazz jumped in — though, not finding out what players were involved until just before — and added a prospect and draft selections.

By Sunday, it was already reported that the Jazz aren’t done just yet. Per The AP’s Tim Reynolds: "And we're hearing the Utah Jazz aren't done. Only 90 hours left until the deadline."

Now, there’s even less time until Thursday’s NBA trade deadline, and things have been silent on Utah’s front.

Sitting at 11-37, the team boasts the second-worst record in the entire league, likely by design as it looks to add one of the better picks in the entire 2025 NBA Draft. For now, it’s doing just that, with a 14% chance at landing the No. 1 pick, but with its group of veterans, other teams could pass Utah down the stretch.

There’s no predicting exactly what deals the team will want to make, but it’s safe to assume it will want to either offload veterans, accrue even more future draft picks or add up-and-coming prospects by any means necessary.

Adding win-now talent in any form would certainly be surprising, though not impossible with its premier piece being forward Lauri Markkanen.
