Vince Carter will be joining the Sportsnet broadcast team once again next season, returning as a part-time color commentator.

Carter revealed the news to Chris Vinel of the Daytona Beach News-Journal, saying he will join play-by-play broadcaster Matt Devlin for a few Toronto Raptors games during the 2025-26 season.

Carter appeared on Sportsnet’s broadcasts last season as the team celebrated its 30th anniversary year. He called a couple of games as part of the on-going celebration.

It was a big year for Carter and the Raptors’ franchise as a whole.  The Raptors officially retired his No. 15 jersey in November of 2024, which made him the first player in franchise history to receive that honor.

Carter will also be joining NBC’s national NBA coverage this season according to the News-Journal report. Carter is also expected to call a couple of Brooklyn Nets games too. He played in Brooklyn from 2004 to 2009.

Sportsnet has not announced its full broadcast team for next season. Alvin Williams who worked as the primary color commentator is expected to return. Meanwhile, the network has yet to announce a new sideline reporter after they parted ways with Savanna Hamilton this past offseason.

Carter retired from the NBA in 2020 after playing 22-years in the league.

Raptors rookie Collin Murray-Boyles receives ‘biggest steal of draft’ vote

It was seen by many as a surprise when the Toronto Raptors took Collin Murray-Boyles with the No. 9 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

Duke center Khaman Maluach was still on the board and many thought that he was going to be the Raptors’ selection. The Raptors needed a backup center behind Jakob Poeltl and he would have been the perfect pick based on need. However, the Raptors went with another forward in Murray-Boyles who comes into the NBA without a jump shot, but prioritizes strong defensive play.
