It was a solid season for the Golden State Warriors as they were able to turn things around at the trade deadline after adding Jimmy Butler to their roster.

With their new star trio of Stephen Curry, Butler and Draymond Green, Golden State was able to make a run to the second round of the playoffs before they were eliminated in five games by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

While it was not the ending that the Warriors wanted, especially with their roster not being healthy due to Curry’s injury in Game 1 of the second round, it was still a successful season after it looked as though they were going to be a bottom feeder early on.

Now the Warriors enter the offseason looking to build around their aging trio to try and chase a championship next season.

While the Warriors will be looking to upgrade their roster this summer, they made a key move on their coaching staff on Wednesday.

The Warriors announced that Nicholas Kerr, son of head coach Steve Kerr, will be called up from the Santa Cruz Warriors, Golden State’s G League affiliate, and rejoin his father’s coaching staff.

This is an incredible honor for Kerr as he will now rejoin his father in the NBA after being in the G League over the last few seasons.

Kerr began his coaching career in 2016 as a graduate assistant coach for the University of California and he then joined the San Antonio Spurs as an intern in 2018.

Over the next three seasons, Kerr joined the Warriors where he assisted with player development and video coordination.

In 2023, he was named the head coach of Santa Cruz after spending the prior two sesaons as an assistant coach in the G League.

Now Kerr will move back to the NBA level where he will join his father’s coaching staff for next season Golden State tries to capitalize on another championship.
