Warriors Announce Steph Curry News on Saturday

The Golden State Warriors’ season has not gone according to plan as the trade deadline approaches.

Superstar Steph Curry has maintained his elite level of play, yet the inconsistencies around him have become more pronounced, and now the team’s second‑best player, forward Jimmy Butler, is set to miss the rest of the year.

With the Warriors’ depth depleted, the path toward making a run in the Western Conference has started to look grim.

Even so, Curry’s play has remained impressive, and the team may still look to improve the roster around him. His combination of shot creation, off‑ball movement and late‑game reliability continues to separate him from nearly every guard in the league.

The 37‑year‑old veteran point guard has averaged 27.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists while shooting 47.0% from the field and 39.2% from beyond the arc.

Golden State’s next matchup is set to be on the road against the Minnesota Timberwolves, now scheduled for Sunday after being postponed on Saturday. Unfortunately for the Warriors, the team received another setback as the game approaches.

Golden State announced on its official injury report that Curry is dealing with right knee soreness and has been given a questionable designation. The path toward taking down a tough Minnesota squad without him would be incredibly difficult.

At the same time, it is likely wise for Golden State to be cautious, given the team would not be competitive without him and cannot afford the risk of a more serious setback.

While the Warriors’ future remains uncertain and the dynasty is clearly fading, Curry has nothing left to prove at this stage in his career. Through 17 NBA seasons, he has built one of the most accomplished legacies in league history, establishing himself as the NBA’s all-time leader in 3-pointers and a generational force who reshaped the way the sport is played.

He has been selected to the All‑Star Game eleven times, earned two scoring titles, captured four NBA championships, secured eleven All‑NBA honors and won two MVP awards.

His longevity, efficiency and ability to elevate teammates have kept Golden State relevant even as the roster around him has fluctuated.

Even as the Warriors navigate an uncertain path forward, Curry’s legacy remains secure, and his presence continues to give the franchise its best chance to stay competitive.
