Warriors blow out Lakers behind Klay Thompson's Game 2 sharpshooting

Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors shot the lights out on Thursday, blowing out the Los Angeles Lakers 127-100 to even their Western Conference semifinal series at one game apiece.

Thompson stood out in Game 2, finishing with 30 points while shooting 11-of-18 from the floor and an astounding 8-of-11 from three-point range.

Thompson posted eight threes in a postseason game for the sixth time in his career, two more than any other player in the history of the NBA.

Following a tough five-point loss in Game 1, one which saw Anthony Davis dominate, the Warriors looked like a well-oiled machine in Game 2. Golden State held Davis to only 11 points and they produced a dominating effort on the other end of the floor.

Everyone got involved for Golden State on Thursday. The Warriors registered assists on 38-of-48 baskets while shooting 50 percent from the field and three-point line.

Along with Thompson, Steph Curry was a problem for the Lakers in Game 2.

Curry dished out a team-high 12 assists -- three shy of his playoff high -- and pitched in 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting. He nailed 3-of-5 attempts from beyond the arc, including an insane triple to end the third quarter which had Pappa Curry shaking his head in the stands.

Like the Warriors ahead of Game 2, the Lakers will now have to regroup as the best-of-seven series now shifts to Staples Center in Los Angeles for Games 3 and 4. Los Angeles will host Golden State for Game 3 on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
