For much of the season, and indeed throughout much of the first round of the playoffs, Warriors guard Buddy Hield was valued as both a good shooter and a good locker room presence. The affable Bahamian was jokingly "introduced" to Stephen Curry by Steve Kerr late in the regular season, as a reminder from Kerr to pass the ball once in a while.
And during the Rockets series, when Jimmy Butler sat out Game 3 and the Warriors still managed a win, Butler posted an image with a caption that thanked Curry and everyone on the Warriors for the win, "except Buddy," Butler said.
But in Game 7 of the Houston series, on the Rockets' home floor, Hield was lights-out, scoring 33 points on 12-for-15 shooting.
“Being in the zone is very spiritual,” Hield said. “It’s just you and that rim, the net and the ball, and you’re figuring it out. Sometimes, you put everything up and it just goes in. It’s being at peace with your game.”
On Tuesday, evidently, Hield was still in some other zone. Playing in the most important game of his career--he has never been beyond the first round of the playoffs before--Hield emerged from the locker room sporting a wardrobe malfunction.
He had the wrong shorts on. The Timberwolves bench pointed it out.

TNT play-by-play man Brian Anderson said, "Here's what you missed, Buddy Hield, it was the Minnesota bench that pointed that out knowing that that's not allowed. Got hit with a delay of game, and Buddy Hield had to change his shorts."
Anderson asked broadcast partner Stan Van Gundy if he'd ever seen that problem from a player.
"Have not," Van Gundy said.
The Warriors jumped to an early lead over the ice-cold-shooting Timberwolves to start the series, but have plenty to worry about, as Stephen Curry appeared to hurt his hamstring.
