The Golden State Warriors are fresh off their incredible Game 7 win against the Houston Rockets on Sunday night. They don't have any time to celebrate, though, with the Minnesota Timberwolves already waiting in the wings.
The Warriors and the Wolves face off in the second round, with Game 1 scheduled on Tuesday at Minnesota.
Golden State knows full well that they will need to keep a watchful eye on Anthony Edwards throughout this series. The three-time All-Star was a key factor in the Timberwolves' 4-1 win over the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round, and he will be looking to take it a step further against the Warriors in the West semis.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr has nothing but high praise for the Minnesota superstar guard. In fact, the four-time NBA shot-caller is a bit at a loss as to how his team will handle Edwards in the series—or so he says.
"The main insight I have is that he's really damn good," Kerr said. "So I don't know how that helps us prepare."
"But, yeah, Ant is an amazing player, and I love his energy. I love his infectious enthusiasm for the game. He was amazing to coach."
Kerr had the chance to coach Edwards this past summer as the 6-foot-4 guard played a key role in Team USA's gold medal conquest at the Paris Olympics. Kerr had a close-up look at this young man and what he brings to the table, which is what led to the Warriors coach's very high opinion of Edwards.
At the same time, however, Kerr may have learned a thing or two about Edwards' game, which he can potentially use against the young superstar in their upcoming series.
"The main insight I have is he's really damn good... Ant is an amazing player... He's the reason they are where they are."

Be that as it may, Kerr is not playing down the threat Edward presents whatsoever.
"There's a reason the Wolves are where they are now," Kerr continued. "You know, it's directly because they've done a great job organizationally and put together a really good roster. Chris [Finch] has done a fantastic job as coach."
"But this is, you know, they are where they are because Ant is a superstar. And you have to have a guy like that to build a great team. And, you know, he's the reason they are where they are."
Game 1 tips off on Tuesday, May 6 at 9:30 p.m. ET from Target Center.
