The Golden State Warriors are currently facing off against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 3 of their second-round series on Saturday night as they look to regain control of the series.

Minnesota got off to a hot start in the game as they were able to take a sizeable lead early in the first quarter before Golden State was able to go on a run to tie the game up at 21 apiece at the end of the first quarter.

Golden State then outscored Minnesota by two in the second quarter to take a 42-40 lead into halftime.

Jimmy Butler has led the way thus far for the Warriors as he has 18 points, three rebounds and three assists at halftime.

Jonathan Kuminga has also played a key role as he has recorded 12 points, four rebounds and two assists in 17 minutes off the bench.

While the Warriors have the lead at halftime, one statistic stood out in the first half of their performance as they have not made a three-pointer thus far.

Golden State entered halftime having missed all five threes that they have attempted, which is a rare sight for a Warriors team that usually comes out firing from beyond the arc.

Of course, not having their star point guard Stephen Curry has played a major role in their lack of threes as he continues to be sidelined due to a left hamstring strain.

This is a rare feat for the Warriors as Saturday’s game marks the first time in 18 years that Golden State has not made a three-pointer in the first half of a playoff game.

The last time it happened was in the first round during the 2007 playoffs against the Dallas Mavericks.

While the Warriors have yet to make a three in Game 3, head coach Steve Kerr should be proud of his team’s efforts as they have been able to get into the paint with their smaller lineup as they try to regain control of the series at home.
