Warriors go on longest NBA Finals scoring run in 50 years against Celtics

The Boston Celtics raced out to a 12-2 lead in the opening minutes of Game 6 against the Golden State Warriors, but that double-digit lead quickly evaporated when the Warriors flipped the script with one of the longest scoring runs in NBA Finals history.

The 21-0 run for the Warriors was the longest in the Finals in 50 years and turned a six-point Golden State deficit into a 15-point lead.

Boston scored with 2:53 left in the first quarter to take a 22-16 lead and didn't score again until Jaylen Brown made a three-pointer with 9:59 left in the second quarter to cut the Warriors' lead to 12. During the nearly five-minute scoreless stretch for the Celtics, Golden State made five threes with three from Jordan Poole.

The Celtics eventually cut the lead back to single digits, but a 10-0 run for the Warriors later in the second quarter led to a 54-39 Golden State lead at halftime.
