For the second time in three years, the Golden State Warriors are bowing out of the NBA playoffs in the second round.
This is after the Warriors suffered a heartbreaking 121-110 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5 on Wednesday night.
Golden State turned in a valiant effort in this one. They tried to mount a comeback in the final frame after Minnesota closed out the third quarter with a 21-point lead. They came up short, though, which only meant that this was the end of the line for the Warriors and their 2024-25 campaign.
Golden State remained gracious in defeat, though. Shortly after the final buzzer, the Warriors sent a two-word message to Minnesota via social media.
"Respect,@Timberwolves" the team posted on X.

The Warriors shared a video of the post-game interaction between the players, which included Curry embracing Anthony Edwards and giving the young Wolves superstar a brief message.
It was a hard-fought battle from both teams in this series, and there's clearly nothing but respect between them.
The Warriors will now face a lot of questions in the offseason after another early playoff exit. A number of personnel decisions need to be made, which could potentially have a significant impact on their squad next season.
Given how this year ended for Golden State, it would not be a big surprise if this roster looks a lot different to start the 2025-26 campaign.
Minnesota, on the other hand, is headed to the Western Conference Finals for a second straight year. They will face the winner of the Denver Nuggets-Oklahoma City series.
