Warriors Make Big Brandin Podziemski Announcement on Wednesday
Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports

The Golden State Warriors are quickly preparing for the NBA offseason after their season came to an unfortunate end in the second round of the playoffs.

Of course, the Warriors put together a great run after adding Jimmy Butler at the trade deadline to pair alongside Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.

Golden State finished the regular season seventh in the Western Conference standings and they were able to make it out of the first round after defeating the Houston Rockets in seven games before ultimately falling in five games to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round.

Now the Warriors have a crucial offseason ahead of them as they try to upgrade their roster around their aging core.

While Golden State has some key roster decisions to make this summer, one player that will likely remain on the roster in Brandin Podziemski, especially after posting the best season of his young NBA career.

On Wednesday, the Warriors made a major announcement regarding Podziemski as they announced that he underwent successful left wrist debridement surgery in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Golden State also announced that the 22-year-old guard is expected to make a full recovery and should be ready for the start of training camp.

This was a surprise announcement by the Warriors and it remains unclear when Podziemski suffered his wrist injury, but it is not expected to impact his status heading into the 2025-26 season.

Podziemski is coming off a great sophomore campaign in the NBA that saw him average 11.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 44.5% from the field and 37.2% from three-point range.

Of course, Podziemski did struggle shooting the ball in the playoffs and his wrist injury may have been a cause for that and he will now look to bounce back next season after undergoing surgery as he continues to be a key piece of Golden State’s future.
