Warriors Make Key Injury Announcement After Playoff Exit

With Curry sidelined, the Warriors struggled on the offensive end and they were overmatched by the Timberwolves, losing the series in five games, ending their season.

While Curry’s injury was the major headline for the Warriors, one of their other key players reportedly suffered an injury during the postseason as well.

On Thursday, the Warriors announced that Moses Moody had surgery on a torn UCL in his right thumb but he is expected to be back in time for training camp.

Of course, Moody was seen at times late in the season with a wrap on his thumb and Golden State announced why with Thursday’s announcement.

This season, the 22-year-old guard averaged 9.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 43.3% from the field and 37.4% from three-point range in the regular season.

While Moody put together the best regular season of his career, it was clear that something was up in the playoffs as he struggled shooting the ball.

In the playoffs, Moody averaged only 7.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game while shooting 35.0% from the field and 33.3% from three.

It is clear that Moody’s struggles likely came from his injured thumb and he will now look to bounce back next season after having surgery on it.
