The Washington Wizards fan base seems to be very excited for Baltimore native Bub Carrington to join the franchise.

The Wizards, via trade with the Portland Trail Blazers, selected Carrington with the No. 14 overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft. Carrington, a 6-foot-5 guard out of Pitt, played just one season of college ball under Jeff Capel with the Panthers before going in the lottery.

On Tuesday, the Wizards posted a hype video for Carrington, showcasing his highlights while he was with the Panthers.

Carrington started 33 games for Pitt as a rookie, averaging 13.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. The Baltimore, Maryland native shot 41% from the field and 32% from three-point range in his freshman campaign, and alongside Jaland Lowe and Ishmael Leggett, starred for the Panthers in the back court.

Just days before the draft last week, Carrington joined Pittsburgh Sports Now on The Pittsburgh Basketball Show. He talked about his time at Pitt, his relationships with his Pitt teammates and coaches, the NBA Draft process, and much more. He even answered a question about the Washington Wizards (prior to the draft). Check out his full appearance on The Pittsburgh Basketball Show here or click the link below.

Carrington and the other two Wizards draft picks (Alex Sarr and Kyshawn George) have been busy since the big night. Since, the three have been introduced at a press conference, and also visited a local basketball clinic to hoop with children in the D.C. area.
