Watch: Damian Lillard passes Reggie Miller on all-time three-point list

Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard has already solidified himself as one of the best shooters ever, but he added more proof to his resume on Friday night.

Late in the first half against the Los Angeles Lakers, Lillard tallied career three-pointer No. 2,561, passing Hall of Famer Reggie Miller for fourth all-time.

It took Miller 1,389 games to reach 2,560 three-pointers. Meanwhile, Lillard surpasses him in the 828th contest of his career. He now trails only James Harden (2,910), Ray Allen (2,973) and Steph Curry (3,680) for the most treys in NBA history.

After being topped, a humbled Miller shared a classy congratulatory message with Lillard.

"I've always loved your mentality and approach as a shooter," Miller said via Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report. "You've put in the long hours required to call yourself one of the best in the world. Continued success."

Despite averaging near a career low in three-point attempts (8.5) this season, Lillard is still among the best three-pointer shooters in the league. The 33-year-old entered the night ranked 12th in the NBA with 173 makes from beyond the arc.

Friday was the second time Lillard has made waves in the NBA record books while padding his Hall of Fame case this season. In December, he became just the 51st player in league history to reach the 20,000-point mark
