Watch: Dwight Howard teases Taiwan invite to LeBron James

LeBron James' NBA future remains a mystery , but it looks like former teammate Dwight Howard has now turned his ongoing recruitment of players to join him in Taiwan to LBJ.

In the unlikely event that Howard was actually speaking to James on the phone (it's unclear whether there was even another person on the line), it's even more doubtful, if not impossible, that the four-time MVP would uproot his and his family's lives to move abroad.

Not only has James built a legacy as one of the most famous U.S. athletes of all-time, but he and his wife, Savannah, have three children. Their daughter (Zhuri Nova) is eight years old, the couple's youngest son (Bryce Maximus) is 15 and the James' oldest child, Bronny, is 18.

Bronny recently committed to USC, where he'll play basketball for the Trojans. Prior to Monday night's bombshell response regarding his NBA future, King James had been saying for months, if not years, that he wanted to stay in the league until he can share the court with Bronny.

Howard's Taiwanese tease comes less than one week after he posted this on Twitter.

The former eight-time All-Star big man signed with the Taoyuan Leopards in November 2022 and has evidently been keeping a close eye on this year's NBA playoffs. Earlier in May, Howard singled out a host of NBA stars whose teams had been eliminated from the postseason, inviting them to join him in Taiwan.

Among them were Deandre Ayton, Kevin Durant and Chris Paul of the Phoenix Suns, Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors and James Harden of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Howard's Leopards went 6-24 last season, with the former three-time Defensive Player of the Year posting 23.2 points and 16.2 rebounds per game.
