Watch: Joel Embiid throws down unreal poster dunk

Joel Embiid was juiced up by the 76ers' trade-deadline deal to acquire James Harden earlier this week, and it looks like that energy carried into the weekend.

Embiid threw down a vicious dunk in the 76ers' game against the Cavaliers on Saturday, putting Cleveland center Jarrett Allen on a poster that fans won't soon forget.

It all started near the end of the second quarter after the two teams kept an even pace to begin the game. With just under two minutes to play in the half, Embiid was fouled by Allen and went to the line for two free throws.

Embiid sank the first shot from the charity stripe, but bricked his second attempt. Allen mistimed his jump for the rebound, and couldn't control it as it bounced in the paint.

As Philadelphia's Georges Niang scooped up the ball off the floor, Embiid -- who had briefly started to retreat back on defense -- saw an open lane in front of him. Niang controlled the possession and fed the rock to Embiid, and the MVP frontrunner took off with no dribble and threw down a ferocious slam on Allen, who made the pivotal mistake of jumping.

Embiid needed to step up and shoulder a heavy load against the second-place Cavs, as in addition to Harden not yet joining the Sixers,  Philly was without key contributors Seth Curry and Andre Drummond, who were sent to the Nets in the trade.

During the game, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Harden and Paul Millsap had passed their physicals and the trade was officially completed. The 76ers are reportedly hoping Harden will debut on Tuesday against the Celtics in Philadelphia.
