The Oklahoma City Thunder have long praised Kenrich Williams, being described as a leader, hard worker, tone setter, professional, good guy, and consistent. It is easy to see how Williams impacts a culture and changes one for the better.

That is what he did for the TCU Horned Frogs, who went 0-18 in Big 12 conference play the season before he arrived in Fort Worth. In his Frogs career, Williams helped them turn their program around, capping it off with an NIT Championship.

Now, the perception of TCU basketball is vastly different. It still carries that blue-collar mindset shared between Williams' college and NBA homes, but it is respected nationally a lot more.

To a certain extent, Williams did the same thing during his NBA career. During lean years, record-wise, with the Thunder, the Texas native's stability helped keep a locker room together and allowed Oklahoma City to get the most out of each day.

"Great competitor, great teammate, great person, plain and simple. And not trying to do those things, that is just what he does," Mark Daigneault said when asked by Inside the Thunder what impact Williams makes on cultures ahead of his second jersey retirement of the season.

The OKC Thunder bench boss went on to say Williams "Never has a bad day," that level of constant good nature, pouring into and lifting others, is hard. The Waco, TX product highlighted his mother when asked where he draws that from.

Throughout his time fielding questions about his college years, Williams kept coming back to that "Blue Collar" mentality. a quality shared between Fort Worth and Oklahoma City, and the veteran forward would not have it any other way.

While his teammates could not make it to the ceremony due to their off-day practice, General Manager Sam Presti made it a point to attend this contest. Another example of how much the Thunder, who are not new to retiring jerseys of culture setters, truly value Williams.
