The NBA saw a massive brawl on Saturday between the Memphis Grizzlies and Miami Heat. It occurred with 1:59 remaining in the game and the Heat comfortably leading 134-113. Miami went on to win 136-120.

At that moment Scotty Pippen Jr. attempted a three-pointer and was knocked down hard from behind by Heat forward Myron Gardner. Pippen Jr. did not like the hit and retaliated by tackling Gardner into the stands, where all the players surrounded them.

“I just thought he maybe needed a hug on the other end. That’s what happened,” Pippen Jr. said after the game.

When asked if he believed he would be suspended, Pippen Jr. responded by saying:

“I don’t expect anything. I don’t think any punches or anything were thrown. I think it was, like I said, a hug. I don’t think it was too crazy. I got ejected. I think it should be left at that, but we’ll see.”
