The Chicago Bulls were the team of the 1990s. They won six NBA championships during the decade and it could’ve been more if Michael Jordan hadn’t retired twice.
When people think about those ’90s Bulls teams, they usually think of Jordan’s incredible scoring ability. Who can forget his 55-point “double-nickel” game just five games back from baseball in 1995?
Jordan’s scoring was a huge part of Chicago’s success, but ultimately it wasn’t the main reason the Bulls became a dynasty. Defense was Chicago’s true calling card and the main reason the Bulls were unstoppable in the ’90s.
In particular, it was the defense from Jordan and his running mate, Scottie Pippen. Together, Jordan and Pippen were arguably the greatest defensive tandem we’ve ever seen on a basketball court.
Recently, the @BullsArchive X account shared a video of Jordan and Pippen’s stifling defense, showing how hard it was to score on these two Bulls legends.

If the Chicago Bulls from the 1990s were placed into today’s game, they would arguably rule the league as their defense would shut down most of today’s teams with ease.
