On Monday, Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times reported that Chicago Bulls general manager Marc Eversley is linked to the Charlotte Hornets' now-vacant president of basketball operations position.
Bulls GM Marc Eversley has also been linked to this job, said a source. Expect him to at least get a sniff. https://t.co/7QnXj7xrN0

This marks the second time Eversley has been connected to the Hornets' front office. Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported in April 2020 that Eversley had previously interviewed for the Hornets' general manager opening that was filled by Mitch Kupchak.
If Eversley is hired away from the Bulls' front office, what changes should we expect inside the Advocate Center? Before and during his tenure as Bulls general manager, Eversley is known as being a skilled relationship builder.
Eversley's Canadian ties to DeMar DeRozan were instrumental in bringing the veteran to the Bulls in the summer of 2021. Perhaps Eversley's potential departure would impact DeRozan's upcoming free agency decision this summer. Aside from DeRozan, another notable enduring relationship Eversley has mentioned also comes from the Toronto Raptors organization with their president of basketball operations, Masai Ujiri.
However, despite Eversley's relationships, the Bulls haven't engaged in any major roster changes since landing DeRozan in 2021. So if Eversley leaves, there may not be much change to a Bulls organization that is resolute in maintaining roster continuity.
If Eversley departs, the Bulls' process of hiring a new general manager ideally should include a thorough search of candidates across the entire NBA landscape. But it wouldn't come as a shock if the Bulls decide to take a path of least resistance in finding a new general manager, ala Jerry Reinsdorf's other team, the Chicago White Sox.
Let me (@mobanks10) and Bulls On Tap what you think about the future of the Bulls' general manager position. Does it really matter if the roster stays the same next season?
