What Josh Hart said about Knicks’ contract extension situation

With the New York Knicks now dealing with contract issues regarding Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart, it appears that the team is setting that situation aside. As the Knicks stars in Towns and Hart are in line to get contract extensions, the team is delaying the matter, as Hart specifically would speak about that on Saturday.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Hart would give his reaction to New York, saying publicly that they are tabling contract extension talks for a later date. Hart took a more positive approach, saying that he is confident “everything is going to work out.”

“Everything is going to work out. I’m not really too stressed over it. I’m not putting too much into it. We have expectations, so it’s good we are able to focus on the season,” Hart said, according to James L. Edwards III.

Reported by NBA insider Shams Charania, the Knicks would say that the “entire focus” is preparing for the upcoming season.

“As an organization, our entire focus is on preparing for the upcoming season and delivering another year for our fans to be proud of. As a result, we will not be negotiating contract extensions until later in the season and will remain solely focused on preparing for the start of the season,” the statement read.

More on the Knicks’ situation with Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart

With seemingly no end in sight, Charania had more reporting for ESPN on the Knicks and how the main goal is to not enter the second apron and experience limitations. However, what has transpired is a division in contract talks with two key players, Towns and Hart.

“This is the Knicks attempting to eliminate the distractions and eliminate the growing cloud around the team that has come from the fact that there is no extension for Karl-Anthony Towns or Josh Hart yet and trying to bring the focus back to basketball,” Shams Charania said. “But now, officially, both sides are fully divided on this issue.”

It remains to be seen how this situation with New York progresses.
