The Golden State Warriors' blockbuster trade for Jimmy Butler was a move that proved to turn around their season.
Once the No. 12 seed in the Western Conference and afraid of missing out on any chance at a postseason run, Mike Dunleavy Jr. sent Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Anderson, and a protected first-round pick in exchange for the six-time All-Star.
While the move bolstered the Warriors in the short term, with a 23-7 run featuring Butler, the hamstring injury to Stephen Curry proved too much to overcome.
This season was an unfamiliar one for Curry. He entered the season without his "splash brother," Klay Thompson, or even a reliable No. 2 option. While Butler stepped in and performed admirably, it's unlikely he lives up to the level that Thompson was at.
On Draymond Green's self-titled podcast, he reminisced about Thompson's now-famous Game 6 performance against the Oklahoma City Thunder back in 2016.
"Game 6, back against the wall… The whole day Klay was like, ‘Dray, I got us. There’s no chance we lose," said Green.

Thompson didn't disappoint. He made 11 3-pointers and scored 41 points to help force a Game 7 back in Golden State.
The Warriors went on to beat the Thunder in Game 7 and advanced to the NBA Finals for the second consecutive year.
It looked as though they were going to breeze their way to a second consecutive title after taking a 3-1 lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, LeBron James and Kyrie Irving exacted revenge for their loss in the previous year's NBA Finals, winning the next three games.
Curry, Thompson and the Warriors got the last laugh, though, as the Warriors went on to win the next two NBA Championships, three in four years.
