While Warriors flounder, Klay Thompson soars on offense

After a worrying start to this season, Klay Thompson is nearing his pre-major injury self. While the Warriors (24-24) struggle, he soars.

The four-time NBA champion is on one of the better scoring stretches of his career. In the past 26 games, Thompson is averaging 23.3 points and shooting 41% from downtown.

in January alone, Thompson is averaging 26.6 points and shooting 43% from three.

Thompson missed the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons after suffering a devastating left knee injury in the 2019 NBA Finals.

In Golden State's 122-120 win Wednesday over Memphis, Thompson hit a clutch three to give the Warriors the lead with 14 seconds remaining:

Earlier this month, Thompson hit another dagger against the Detriot Pistons. Even though the Warriors lost on a desperation heave, Thompson left his mark.

Watch this masterful ATO (after-timeout) call by Steve Kerr:

The night prior, Thompson scored a season-high 54, including 10 threes, against the Atlanta Hawks. Watch as he sinks another heavily contested, big-time shot in overtime:

Each month Thompson has improved upon the last, upping his scoring average and overall efficiency.

With the Warriors getting healthier and Thompson's reemergence, the league should take note.

No opponent wants to see a pre-2020 Thompson alongside Stephen Curry & company in the playoffs.
