Why is Spurs vs. Bulls Doubly Important?

After splitting a back-to-back series against the Denver Nuggets, the San Antonio Spurs will be back on the road on Monday night, traveling to take on the Chicago Bulls in the Windy City. The Spurs lost their only other matchup against the Bulls earlier this season, and there is a shocking amount on the line for these two teams in a regular-season showdown.

For starters, the Bulls are 16-19, which is the tenth-worst record in the NBA. If the Bulls' draft pick lands outside of the top ten, it will convey to the Spurs as a result of the trade that sent DeMar DeRozan to Chicago. On top of that, the Spurs are 18-17, and with just two games separating fifth and ninth place in the Wild Western Conference, every game has playoff implications, even this early in the season.
