Why Is This Golden State Warriors Player Still A Free Agent?
USA TODAY Sports

Anthony Lamb is coming off a solid year where he appeared in 62 regular season games for the  Golden State Warriors (and six NBA playoff games).

During the regular season, Lamb averaged 6.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest while shooting 47.1% from the field and 36.7% from the three-point range.

At just 25, he has proven to be a solid role player that is still developing.

That said, Lamb still (on September 6) remains a free agent available to be signed by any team in the league.

In addition to Lamb's solid play in the NBA, he also played six G League regular season games with averages of 11.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.8 blocks per contest while shooting 40.9% from the field.

Initially, the former Vermont star went undrafted in 2020, but he was able to play his rookie year with the Houston Rockets and the following season with the San Antonio Spurs (before joining Golden State).

His career averages are 6.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest while shooting 44.7% from the field and 35.3% from the three-point range in 88 NBA regular season games.

Since he is young and coming off a year where he put up productive numbers on a good team, it comes as a surprise that Lamb remains available less than one more before training camp opens around the league.

He will be a name to keep an eye on over the next few weeks because many teams could benefit by signing him to their bench.
