A bizarre twist unfolded for the Milwaukee Bucks right after their recent matchup with the Denver Nuggets. After Giannis Antetokounmpo publicly criticized some of his teammates for playing selfishly, Antetokounmpo suffered a calf injury that will possibly hold him out for six weeks… at least that’s according to The Greek Freak himself.
Antetokounmpo made the diagnosis himself, despite not having an MRI from the Bucks’ medical staff.
“Probably the next steps will be to go to an MRI tomorrow. After the MRI, they’ll tell me, probably, I popped something in my calf, in my soleus, something. They’ll probably give me a protocol of four to six weeks that I’ll be out,” Antetokounmpo explained. “This is from my experience being around the NBA.
“I’m gonna work my butt off to come back. That will probably be (the) end of February, beginning of March,” Antetokounmpo continued. “Hopefully, the team, we’re in a place where we can at least make the Play-In or make the playoffs.”
Did Antetokounmpo really injure himself? Or is this a ploy to get Milwaukee to trade him before the February 5 trade deadline?
As of now, one can’t be too sure. What seems likely is that we will soon see Antetokounmpo wearing another team’s jersey.
