Will Nuggets' Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon Play Against Trail Blazers?
Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Nuggets will host the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night as they look to win their seventh consecutive game, but they may be shorthanded.

Denver has listed Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon as probable for Monday’s game. Murray is dealing with a knee issue, but he is expected to start for the Nuggets on Monday. Gordon is still recovering from a calf injury, but he is also expected to start Monday night.

The Nuggets also have Michael Porter Jr. listed as questionable with a hamstring injury. Of course, Porter Jr. missed their victory over the Phoenix Suns on Sunday with the injury after posting back-to-back games with 30 or more points.

Denver has ruled out Russell Westbrook and Peyton Watson. Westbrook still has no timeline for a return with a left hamstring strain and Watson is set to be reevaluated in three weeks after suffering a right knee sprain.

With Westbrook out, expect Christian Braun to continue filling in for him in the starting lineup. If Porter Jr. was to miss Monday’s matchup, expect Julian Strawther to draw another start. Strawther started in place of Porter Jr. on Sunday and ended the game with 18 points and six rebounds.

Of course, it would be a major blow if the Nuggets are without Porter Jr., but luckily for them both Murray and Gordon are expected to play on Monday.

For Portland, they may also be severely shorthanded. The Trail Blazers have Robert Williams III, Jerami Grant, Kris Murray and Matisse Thybulle all listed as questionable for Monday night’s matchup.

Fans can catch Monday’s game against the Trail Blazers and Nuggets at 9:00 p.m. EST.
