Will Nuggets' Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr. Play Against Trail Blazers?
Andrew Wevers-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Nuggets host the Portland Trail Blazers Wednesday night as they look to extend their winning streak to eight games.

After a slow start to the season, the nuggets have finally found their footing and have looked like a championship caliber team over the past month of the season. They are currently on a seven-game winning streak, which is the longest active streak in the NBA.

Of course, Nikola Jokic has led the way for the Nuggets during their recent hot streak, but the rest of the roster has also played well. Despite this, they will now face off against a red-hot Trail Blazers team that has won seven of their last 10 games, though they have lost back-to-back games.

Denver may also be shorthanded for Wednesday’s game as their injury report continues to grow. Ahead of their game against Portland, the Nuggets have listed Michael Porter Jr. as questionable with a hamstring injury while also downgrading Aaron Gordon to questionable with a calf injury.

If the Nuggets are without both Gordon and Porter Jr., expect Julian Strawther and Zeke Nnaji to possibly fill in for them in the starting lineup.

The Nuggets have also ruled out Russell Westbrook, who continues to have no timeline for a return from a left hamstring strain, and Peyton Watson, who is set to miss the next three weeks with a right knee sprain.

The good news for Denver is that Jamal Murray is expected to play despite a knee injury as he is currently listed as probable for Wednesday’s matchup.

For the Trail Blazers, they will also be shorthanded for Wednesday’s game. They have already ruled out Deandre Ayton, Scoot Henderson and Matisse Thybulle and both Robert Williams III and Kris Murray are listed as questionable.

Fans can catch Wednesday night’s matchup between the Trail Blazers and Nuggets at 9:00 p.m. EST.
