Will Wemby Play Against OKC?

The San Antonio Spurs lost to the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night, 110-93. Victor Wembanyama did not play after tweaking his right knee in a game against the Los Angeles Lakers

The game against Dallas was the first game Wembanyama has missed all season. After a slow start, he is posting 22.7 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks. He is also shooting an improved 33.7 percent from 3-point range.

On Tuesday, the Spurs will play the Oklahoma City Thunder in a nationally televised game broadcast on TNT. The Spurs lost by 12 points to the Thunder earlier in the season, and Wembanyama posted only six points and eight rebounds. He made only one field goal.

Even if Wembanyama brings the best version of himself against OKC, the Spurs simply cannot match up against the second-best team in the Western Conference. On Monday, the Spurs updated Wemby's status to "doubtful." Chances are, he will join Jeremy Sochan on the sidelines. All three two-way players will suit up for the Austin Spurs in the G League and will also not play.

Devin Vassell, who sat out Saturday's loss, did not appear on the injury report. Tre Jones, who played only his second game of the season this weekend, is also expected to suit up.

The Thunder lost a close game against the Mavericks on Sunday and are expected to bring their A-game against the Spurs, who will likely be without their best player. After Tuesday's matchup, the Spurs will have a day off before facing the Utah Jazz, allowing Wembanyama more time to recover.
