New Orleans is in freefall.
Sunday’s 137-106 loss to the Thunder dropped the Pelicans to 0-6. Only Brooklyn joins them in the “still searching” club. The part that’s really getting people talking? It’s not just the losing — it’s how they’re losing.
They’ve given up at least 120 in all six games. Three of the last four losses have been by 30 or more, per Law Murray of The Athletic. The team is relatively healthy. This isn’t last year’s “injury excuse” version.
And the noise is getting loud.
Rylan Stiles of Locked On Thunder wrote during Sunday’s game that the Pelicans looked like they’d flat-out quit on Willie Green. Zach Lowe of The Ringer tweeted that the group looks broken — and Green has to be feeling the squeeze.
William Guillory of The Athletic added that if this doesn’t turn fast, a change on the bench feels inevitable.
This comes after months of talk that players had begun to tune out Green’s voice.
As Bret Siegel of ClutchPoints noted, multiple players have already expressed frustration with where things stand.
Also hovering over this mess — the Pelicans traded an unprotected 2026 first to move up for Derik Queen at No. 13. Queen scored four points in 6:51 vs OKC.
He’d been averaging 8.0 points and 5.4 assists after missing most of preseason with a wrist injury.
Right now, none of that matters if they can’t get a single win.
0-6. Zero answers. Lots of pressure.
