Wizards Make Khris Middleton Decision After Trade With Bucks: Report

The Milwaukee Bucks and Washington Wizards joined in on the NBA trade action on Wednesday morning.

The deal featured Khris Middleton going to the Wizards along with rookie AJ Johnson in exchange for Kyle Kuzma and Patrick Baldwin Jr. with draft compensation also being swapped.

The Wizards, who have the worst record in the NBA at 8-41, moved on from Kuzma after plenty of trade talks the past few seasons.

After the trade was reported, word came out that the Wizards have no intentions to move Middleton, at least for the time being, per SI's Chris Mannix

"Wizards plan, for now, is to hold on to Khris Middleton, who played with Malcolm Brogdon in Milwaukee. Move gives Washington a little financial flexibility and frees up even more playing time/responsibility for its young wings. Plus they can take a flyer on AJ Johnson," Mannix wrote.

Middleton is 33 years old and has been a staple in Milwaukee ever since coming over after his rookie season.

Middleton is owed $31.6 million this year, although he has a $34 million player option for the 2025-26 season.

This year, Middleton is averaging 12.6 points per game, his lowest since the 2013-14 NBA season, and he has played in just 23 games due to injuries.

Nonetheless, the Wizards have no intentions of trading Middleton or buying him out, although things could change in the summer.
