The Wizards are ready for a new era of basketball in Washington, and the team signified that on Monday by sharing photos of Russell Westbrook in uniform for the first time.

Washington acquired Westbrook from the Houston Rockets last week in exchange for John Wall, who hasn't played an NBA game since 2018.
The 32-year-old requested a trade out of Houston after he and fellow All-Star James Harden shared their concerns about the future of the organization following the departures of Daryl Morey and Mike D'Antoni. He'll now play for the third team of his career after spending 11 seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder and just one with the Rockets.
Westbrook admitted last week that he is excited to be in Washington and have the opportunity to play alongside Bradley Beal, whom he called a "silent assassin."
The two-time scoring champion averaged 27.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and seven assists last season while shooting 47.2% from the field and 25.8% from deep. He'll be a solid addition to Washington's offense alongside Beal and Davis Bertans.
