Free agent guard Alondes Williams has agreed to a deal with the Washington Wizards, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes. With 15 players already on guaranteed contracts, the move is expected to be a training camp deal.

The signing brings Washington’s roster count to 19, two short of the offseason limit.

Williams, 25, has appeared in nine NBA games. He debuted with the Brooklyn Nets in 2022-23, played seven games with the Miami Heat in 2023-24, and made one appearance with the Detroit Pistons last season.

Detroit signed Williams to a two-way contract in October but waived him in early January. He then resurfaced with the Orlando Magic’s Summer League team in July.

Most of his work came in the G League, where Williams split last season between the Sioux Falls SkyForce and Motor City Cruise. In 45 games, he averaged 18.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 32.9 minutes.

If Williams is signed to an Exhibit 10 deal and waived before the season, he could join Washington’s G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go, and earn a bonus of up to $85,300.
