Wizards To Sign Alondes Williams

Haynes doesn’t provide any specifics on the terms of the agreement, but given that Williams has no two-way eligibility left and has never been on a standard NBA contract, it seems safe to assume it’ll be a non-guaranteed training camp deal that includes Exhibit 9 and Exhibit 10 language.

Williams, who went undrafted out of Wake Forest in 2022, has bounced back and forth between the NBA and G League over the past four years, spending time with the Nets, Heat, Pistons, and Wizards, as well as their respective NBAGL affiliates.

The 6’4″ guard has only made 13 appearances at the NBA level, but he earned rotation minutes while on a 10-day deal with Washington in February of this year, averaging 11.0 points per game on .615/.357/.875 shooting in four appearances off the bench. That stretch included a 25-point, 10-rebound performance in a win over Indiana on Feb. 20.

A stalwart at the G League level over the last few seasons, Williams set a new career high by scoring 22.5 points per game in 35 outings for the Capital City Go-Go in 2025/26. The 26-year-old also contributed 5.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. In 2023/24, he was named the G League’s Most Improved Player and claimed a spot on the All-NBAGL first team.

There could be a path for Williams to earn a spot on the Wizards’ opening night roster this fall, given that the team is currently carrying 14 players on standard contracts. But unless he has a huge preseason, it seems more likely that he’ll return to the Go-Go to open the season.
