Well, you don’t see that every day. That’s right — Trae Young was ejected Monday night before ever playing a game for the Washington Wizards.
Young, who was out of uniform during Washington’s 123-118 loss to the Houston Rockets, left the bench during a fourth-quarter scuffle between Houston’s Tari Eason and Washington’s Jamir Watkins and directed comments toward an official.
That earned him an early trip to the locker room. Eason was also ejected.
The moment came just hours after Young announced on social media that he plans to make his Wizards debut Thursday against the Utah Jazz.
Young later joked online not to expect many more ejections in Washington.
Don’t expect me to get ejected too many more times D.C.
.. but I’m definitely bringing that energy & competitiveness when I’m back for my brothers!

The four-time All-Star hasn’t played since Dec. 27 because of MCL and quad injuries in his right leg. Coach Brian Keefe said Young is expected to play 17-20 minutes in his debut.
Washington, 16-44, is firmly in rebuild mode. But the Young era, technically, has already started.
