WWE superstar Danhausen says he ‘cursed the Cavaliers’ after loss to New York Knicks

Danhausen has become an instant fan-favourite after swapping AEW for WWE, and his widespread popularity saw him invited to Madison Square Garden by the New York Knicks for their recent match with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Danhausen made his WWE debut at Elimination Chamber earlier this year, and his character has since garnered much attention across the internet.

Known for his infamous ‘you are cursed’ catchphrase, the wrestler has now shared a video detailing how he helped the Knicks win on Tuesday night by ‘cursing’ their opponents.

Danhausen attends New York Knicks’ win over Cleveland Cavaliers

As per Bleacher Report, when making an appearance on NBA Today on Tuesday prior to that game, the former AEW talent said: “I do have a special mission I’ve been sent on and that is for the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight.

“Let them know that they are cursed.”

The ‘curse’ obviously had a real impact on the Cavaliers, who lost the tie 115-104.

Taking to social media after attending the event at Madison Square Garden, Danhausen celebrated his ‘curse’ working.

When doing so, the wrestler also stated that he is now expecting the Knicks to offer him courtside seats in a future match.

He said: “We did it. Danhausen has cursed the Cavaliers, the Knicks have won, and Danhausen has won. And now he is owed courtside seats between Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner.”

New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers fans react to Danhausen’s curse

When celebrating his successful ‘curse’ on X/Twitter post-game, the WWE talent received many messages from both sets of fans.

One fan wrote: “The Knicks win the chip and Danhausen automatically goes into my Mount Rushmore of Wrestling and I don’t care who doesn’t like it.”

Another pleaded: “Please, Danhausen, not my Cavs, uncurse them.”

“Please take the curse off, I beg,” wrote another Cavaliers fan.

A second Knicks fan commented: “Thank you, Danhausen! The curse worked. Let’s go Knicks,” while a third replied: “Danhausen, you are the GOAT hausen. Thank you for cursing the Cavs!”

Danhausen is now expected to turn his attention toward WWE’s upcoming PLE Clash In Italy, which takes place on May 31, 2026.
