That is no longer the case, as it appears Trump and his team have decided differently on attending the game that is set for a noon kickoff.
“The University has been notified that former President Donald Trump will no longer be attending the Ohio State-Penn State football game,” Penn State spokesman Wyatt DuBois told the Centre Daily Times on Wednesday morning.
Trump was already on Penn State’s campus last weekend for a campaign rally at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center, which is where the men’s and women’s basketball teams play for the Nittany Lions.
The Republican presidential nominee has already attended one college football game this fall when the Georgia Bulldogs faced off with the Alabama Crimson Tide. More recently, Trump was in attendance when the Pittsburgh Steelers played the New York Jets on Oct. 20.
Penn State hosting Ohio State happens just three days before Election Day, which is on Nov. 5. It was figured that Trump would be making an appearance at the game in the swing state in front of 100,000 fans and in front of millions of folks on television.
Trump has taken in many sporting events over the years, but it appears he has decided differently on this one. Many expected it to be a night game and a ‘white out’ environment but that is not happening either.
Ohio State is a -3.5 favorite as the road team against the Nittany Lions. If the Buckeyes win, they will move to 7-1 on the season and pick up their best win yet.
