A United Airlines flight carrying 153 people was forced to make an emergency landing after a hijack scare.
Flight 2005 left Chicago O’Hare International for Minneapolis St. Paul International on Friday night. It ended up in Wisconsin after a passenger made multiple attempts to rush the cockpit.
Another passenger took a photo showing a man in a blue shirt being approached by police officers.
An airline spokesperson told the Daily Mail the flight landed safely after dealing with a “security concern with an unruly passenger.”
Other passengers claimed the man was shouting in Russian.
Radio transmission obtained by WISN revealed one person telling air traffic control that police were on the plane after a passenger tried to storm the cockpit.
“Don’t think they were able to cuff him but were able to get control of him after multiple attempts to try to breach the cockpit,” they said.
According to flight tracking data, the flight diverted to Wisconsin’s Dane County Regional Airport an hour and a half after takeoff.
