We hope you all enjoyed your long weekends, it's good to be back in the swing of things as May heads into its final week. You know the deal, it's time to find us some playoff winners. We're going for a bomb to get the week started: it seems only right.
We like a lotto tonight
Anthony Edwards 35+ points (+450)
Can Minnesota grab a win and avoid the sweep? We like to think Anthony Edwards will do all he can to pull it off. We saw Edwards's volume rise in Game 3, with him chucking up 24 field-goal attempts and finishing with 26 points.
Edwards has now shot the ball 24+ times in two straight on the road, and we do think he's due for a takeover game we started to grow accustomed to.
When Edwards shoots 24+ times from the field, he has gone for 40+ in three of his last six games, and we're just asking for 35+. We like the script for such volume this evening, so we're shooting our shot on the Timberwolves star taking plenty of his own.
Carter Verhaeghe 5+ shots (+270)
Down 2-1 in the series, expect Florida to pummel shots on net in an effort to even the Eastern Conference Finals. In such a world, we'd naturally want a piece of who is doing the shooting, and Carter Verhaeghe certainly seems like the best bet to do just that.
Verhaeghe finished Game 3 with seven shots on goal, which is impressive, but his 19 shot attempts is the truly shocking number from that game. If he even sniffs that volume, he should be in for another big shooting night.
Verhaeghe has 5+ shots in two of three this series and in four of his last six at home.
You can parlay these two at these numbers at +1935 on FanDuel. Feel free to divvy them up or water them down. We're taking a low-stake bet on some fun tonight.
In the news ...
Celtics advance to NBA Finals — Boston went into the Eastern Conference Finals as massive favorites (-1600), and they certainly delivered, finishing off the Pacers in just four games. Game 4 saw Indiana once again blow a late lead, with the Celtics winning 105-102 and advancing to their second Finals appearance in three seasons. Boston remains heavy favorites to win it all and awaits the winner of the Mavericks-Timberwolves matchup, with Dallas currently up 3-0.
Stars take 2-1 series lead over Oilers — Edmonton opened a 2-0 lead at home in the first period but Dallas found three quick goals in the second and then pulled ahead in the third to take it 5-3. The Stars are now 6-1 on the road this postseason and hold a 2-1 series lead in the Western Conference Final. Jason Robertson led the way with a hat trick, and Roope Hintz had two assists in his return to action. The Oilers are -125 tomorrow to knot up the series.
Positive news around Joe Burrow's injury recovery — In case you were worried about Joe Burrow's return to health following an injury-riddled 2023 season, news out of Cincinnati seems to be all positive for the Bengals passer. Cincinnati offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher said Burrow is full-go in OTAs with no pitch count, and he and Cincy do seem likely for a big bounce-back effort. We've gone on the record already that we like the value on Burrow and the Bengals to have a year. You can grab him to lead the league in passing at +850.
