Baron Davis Opts Out

The Golden State Warriors finished the 2007-08 NBA season with 48 wins. Only six times in the organization's sixty-two year history have they won 49 or more games in a single season.

Maybe now is not a good time to let the team's best player walk.

Baron Davis has opted out of his current contract. Bay Area sports writer Tim Kawakami has some great analysis on the move and its implications on the Warriors and Davis. Stephen A is talking about this as I type, and he implies Davis wants a long-term deal and would be interested in going to NYC.
