The 2026 NFL offseason is here and that means it’s time for mock drafts, draft profiles and everything that goes with them. So without further ado, here’s one of many Draft Profiles for the 2025 NFL draft.
HT: 6’3
WT: 274 lbs
Overton projects as a Day Two pick who can contribute immediately in a rotational role and develop into a starter over time. He fits best in multiple-front defenses, sliding inside on passing downs where his power and length challenge guards. His 1,529 career snaps across varied alignments show real positional versatility, which helps coordinators create pre-snap confusion. Teams running attacking 3-4 schemes can deploy him as a base end capable of striking from multiple spots along the line.
The 2025 regression needs context. Opponents schemed specifically to limit him, chipping more often while he had not yet developed effective counter moves. That is correctable with NFL coaching. When his hands fire and he maintains proper pad level, he beats quality tackles consistently. The physical tools are clear: surprising bend for his size, functional power that translates to effective bull rushes, and a motor that never quits.
Overton’s floor is a rotational contributor logging 400–500 snaps and providing complementary pass rush value. His ceiling is higher than his overall ranking suggests if a defensive line coach can clean up technical issues and develop hand counters. His 2024 performances against Wisconsin and Michigan demonstrate that upside, which teams are hoping to unlock with a pick in this range.
