A veteran free-agent outside linebacker has identified the San Francisco 49ers as a desirable destination for the 2026 NFL season. Two-time Super Bowl champion Kyle Van Noy appeared on the Up & Adams show this week and made it clear he's intrigued by what the 49ers are building.

Additionally, there's one player he would welcome the chance to line up alongside.

"I'd really like to play with my little brother Fred Warner, with the 49ers," Van Noy told Kay Adams. "I think they got something cooking over there. I know they love Joey Bosa because of Nick and all that—I get that. But I would love to play with my little brother. That's my guy, and I think they got something cooking over there."

When asked whether he had any contact with San Francisco, Van Noy remained vague but reiterated his interest.

"I'm not going to go into those details, but I just would love to play with Federico (Warner's full name is Federico Anthony Warner) a little bit," he said.

Originally selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of BYU, Van Noy spent parts of three seasons in Detroit before being traded to the New England Patriots in 2016. That's where he won two championships—in Super Bowls 51 and 53.

Since then, Van Noy has had stops with the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers, and, most recently, the Baltimore Ravens.

During the 2025 season with Baltimore, Van Noy appeared in 15 games (13 starts), totaling two sacks, 20 tackles, one interception, and four passes defensed, per Pro Football Reference.

If the 49ers are seeking a versatile front-seven contributor, Van Noy could be a logical fit. He has recorded 57 career sacks, including a career-high 12.5 in 2024 and nine in 2023.

Across 12 NFL seasons, Van Noy has appeared in 172 games with 115 starts, compiling 561 tackles, 14 forced fumbles, 10 fumble recoveries, and four interceptions. His career accolades include a Pro Bowl selection in 2024.
