Kickoff between the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions is just hours away. Ahead of their Week 18 matchup at Levi's Stadium, the 49ers have announced several roster moves to prepare for the game.

The 49ers have activated linebacker Tatum Bethune from injured reserve after opening his practice window last week.

Additionally, defensive lineman Alex Barrett and offensive lineman Drake Nugent have been elevated from the practice squad, making them available to play against the Lions.

As expected, the team has placed offensive lineman Aaron Banks on injured reserve. Banks sustained an MCL injury during the Week 16 matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

49ers add a cornerback

The 49ers have claimed cornerback Tre Avery off waivers from the Tennessee Titans. Since entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2022, Avery has amassed 65 tackles and 11 passes defensed over three seasons with the Titans, per Pro Football Reference. This year, he appeared in nine games.

Lions activate a linebacker

The Lions have activated linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin from injured reserve ahead of the primetime showdown.
