On the eve of the NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers announced a new long-term partnership with Sutter Health as their official healthcare partner, serving fans and communities across Northern California.

The collaboration aims to connect millions of fans to health services through both community-based initiatives and enhanced in-stadium experiences. From mobile screening units to youth fitness programs, the partnership is designed to make healthcare more accessible and visible in everyday life.

At the center of the effort is a clear and measurable goal: helping people take earlier, more proactive steps in their health journey.

"I think it really comes down to screenings," said Brent Schoeb, chief operating officer at the San Francisco 49ers. "Sutter Health is going to be a partner on Crucial Catch, which is a big NFL initiative focused on cancer screening. For us, it's about increasing access—getting more people screened and making that process easier for our community."

As part of the NFL's Crucial Catch initiative, the 49ers will introduce a "Screen for Screens" program that links on-field moments to no-cost health screenings in the community. The collaboration will deploy mobile screening units throughout the region, bringing care directly to local residents.

The 49ers and Sutter Health will also develop a co-branded Community Fitness Zone in new locations year-round, creating spaces for physical activity, wellness programming, and youth engagement.

"It was really about building a focused relationship with a strong community emphasis," Schoeb said. "Yes, it's about what we're doing outside the stadium—whether that's youth fitness zones or mobile screening initiatives—but also what we're doing inside."

The partnership will also extend to the fan experience at Levi's® Stadium, where new wellness-focused features are being introduced, including the Sutter Health Plaza and Gate C, as well as improved wellness-focused spaces such as first-aid stations, nursing pods, and a dedicated sensory room designed to support fans and families.

The sensory room is designed to create a more inclusive environment for fans attending games, concerts, and other events.

"The sensory room is a great example of making sure anyone and everyone can be part of the experience," Schoeb added.

For the 49ers, success will ultimately be measured by community impact.

"If we can increase the number of screenings across the community, that's the big headline we'd want to see," Schoeb said. "Helping create a healthier community overall."
