Head coach Kyle Shanahan definitively said last week that the San Francisco 49ers were moving on to second-year pro Trey Lance as their starting quarterback. Veteran signal-caller Jimmy Garoppolo is still on the roster, though, and working his way back from his March shoulder surgery in preparation of a possible trade.
General manager John Lynch recently gave a promising update on Garoppolo's condition.

On Tuesday, Lynch told reporters that the team would "stay patient" regarding a possible trade of "Jimmy G." Seemingly in line with what Lynch has said about Garoppolo's health, Shanahan said last week that the 30-year-old has been "throwing the heck out of the ball" since the surgery.
Garoppolo finished with a 68.3% completion percentage, 3,810 passing yards, 20 passing touchdowns and 12 interceptions across 15 regular-season games last season.
