The last time Fred Warner was in action for the San Francisco 49ers was in Week 6. The four-time All-Pro linebacker suffered a dislocated and broken right ankle against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Oct. 12 and has since been out of commission.
Warner has been limited to just six games this season, registering 51 combined tackles (28 solo) and two tackles for loss. The four-time Pro Bowler has also logged three passes defended, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in his limited time on the field.
Warner is not expected to play in Sunday’s wild-card matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Warner and his wife, Sydney Warner, announced some big news on Wednesday. Sydney Warner took to social media to share some photos of their new baby girl.
The Warners are now a family of four. Fred and Sydney Warner got married in 2022, and they welcomed their first child, Beau Anthony, in 2024. On Monday night, Sydney Warner announced the birth of their daughter, Bella Nicole.
Congratulations quickly poured in for the couple amid their life-changing family milestone. The Niners also sent a message to their star LB after the news.
“Congratulations to the Warner family ” the team posted on X.

Warner has not been able to fulfill his duties for the team for the most part of the season due to his injury. However, the silver lining to his unfortunate situation is that he has had the opportunity to spend more time with his family during this crucial period in their lives.
Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan recently said that Warner could potentially return in the playoffs if the team is able to go on a deep run. This opens the door for a possible comeback for the 29-year-old and new father of two.
The 49ers will need to defeat the Eagles on Sunday first, though, which will be a massive challenge for them.
