The San Francisco 49ers continue to rebuild their wide receiver room by adding a former 1,000-yard threat to their ranks.
Wide receiver Christian Kirk is signing a one-year deal with the 49ers, according to multiple reports. The deal will be worth $6 million.
Kirk is a solid, low-risk addition for the Niners, who still appear destined to lose Jajuan Jennings to another team. He is known for his excellent ability as a slot receiver, which should work very well for him alongside fellow free agent addition Mike Evans.
Kirk’s best season came in 2022 with the Jacksonville Jaguars, when he caught 84 passes for 1,108 yards and eight touchdowns. He has failed to reach those heights since, and only caught 28 passes for 239 yards and a touchdown while playing for the Houston Texans in 2025.
The 49ers’ receiver room will look a lot different next year. In addition to Jennings, Brandon Aiyuk is also as good as gone, although they did not have him last season either. Ricky Pearsall looks likely to be their only holdover from a team that made it to the NFC Divisional round last season.
