49ers sign former first-round pick DE Dion Jordan

The San Francisco 49ers are the latest team to give former first-round pick Dion Jordan a chance to resurrect his NFL career.

Jordan, 30, signed a one-year deal with the reigning NFC champions on Friday, as noted by ESPN. In seven appearances with the Oakland Raiders last season, the defensive end tallied a pair of sacks and seven total tackles.

The Miami Dolphins selected Jordan with the third pick of the 2013 NFL Draft. While he showed promise across his first two seasons, he missed the entire 2015 campaign following multiple violations of the NFL's substance abuse policy. He also didn't play a single meaningful snap in 2016.

From 2017 through 2018, Jordan featured in 17 regular-season games for the Seattle Seahawks.

He has tallied a total of 10.5 sacks, a pair of forced fumbles and 91 total tackles in 50 games as a pro.
