According to the NFL transaction wire, the San Francisco 49ers hosted free agent cornerback Jack Jones as the team continues to evaluate its secondary depth. The visit must have gone well because Jones' agent revealed that the 49ers are signing the defensive back to a one-year deal, providing a potential boost to their secondary.

The New England Patriots selected Jones (5-11, 175) in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Arizona State. He spent one and a half seasons in New England before joining the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023. Following his release from the Raiders, Jones signed with the Miami Dolphins in 2025.

During the 2025 season with Miami, Jones appeared in all 17 games, recording 77 tackles, including four for loss. He also added one interception for seven yards, forced two fumbles, and notched six passes defensed.

Over four NFL seasons, Jones has appeared in 59 games (38 starts), totaling 213 tackles, 33 passes defensed, and eight interceptions. He has also scored four defensive touchdowns and forced three fumbles.
